A Time To Stand! by Elder Brian Moore The Trumpet has been blown in Zion. The sound resonates off of the precious walls of splendor. Now is the time to stand! Currently, true old line, Primitive Baptist are being inundated with corruption and indignation. This corruption is coming in the form of unsound, unscriptural practices that are being advocated, supported, proposed and initiated by men who fervently desire to change our blessed Zion. Their desire to create a more "modern" church is fed by lustful indulgences and the desire for filthy lucre. This movement is consistent with the missionary movement, which brought the division of 1832. The progressive movement, the absolute predestination movement, and the means movement all of which brought about division, dissent, heresy and corruption into our sweet lady of peace. The Lord God will preserve his precious church throughout this siege as he has done in the past. However, we must take a stand and remain true to the old paths and enter not into the deceitful inventions of men. In our attempt to take the Gospel steps we have been rejected, reviled and referred to as troublemakers. We have been falsely labeled as "war" mongers. When in truth we have endeavored to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. In our efforts we have not found ourselves submitting evil to no man, for the evil which he has introduced. Yet we have tried to provide all things honest in the sight of our brethren. We have stood in the old paths and have wept, we have put on sackcloth and sat in ashes, prayed for wisdom, labored in love and sought the truth. Despite our feeble efforts, the deceit continues. Therefore it is time to adhere to the Gospel steps and separate from those which cause this dissention. It is time to draw "another" line in the sand and remain steadfast in our support for the "Old Paths!" When approached with the heresy of the Modern Mission system, we must reject that invention of man which insists that the great commission was given to the Church, and remain in agreement with the biblical teaching, that the commission was given to the apostles. When the element of "tithing" (first fruit giving) is advocated, we must remain in agreement with the biblical teaching, that tithing was an Old Testament practice and that the office of the ministry is not a "business" dependent upon filthy lucre, but rather a calling dependent upon God. When elements such as Sunday Schools, youth groups and bible studies are advocated we must stand opposed to the indoctrinating practices of the day and follow the biblical teaching that Christ himself will add to the Church daily such as should be saved. When elements such as preachers meetings, seminary's and counseling workshops are introduced we must remain in agreement with the biblical teaching that God himself will qualify the called, as well as provide the sustaining food for his sheep. When the body of a sound, orderly church, which has taken the proper Gospel steps to rectify a problem, is usurped and it's decisions are not honored nor respected by another we must consider the latter to be out of order and refuse to fellowship them. For if we fellowship them we are no more than partakers, in their non-scriptural conduct. We should be thankful for being Primitive Baptist, for we are, by the Grace of Almighty God. We should be thankful for our heritage and those who have trod before. We should be thankful that despite the inventions of man, false doctrine, adversity, change and deceit that our forefathers stood firm and refused to waver amidst the storms of heresy. We should be thankful that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has forewarned us of such unsound practices, through the written word, and has provided us with sound advice in how to deal with those who advocate change and false doctrine! We should be thankful that Christ established his church on a solid foundation, Himself, and that the inventions of man will not and cannot be built thereon. Therefore let us walk in the "Old Paths", let us seek the face of him that is greater than the world, let us continue to worship in a "primitive" way that is humble and pleasing unto God. Let us stand together, linked in the bonds of love, faith, peace, practice, doctrine and Christ as True Old Line Primitive Baptist Let us not sit idly by why the corruption continues. NOW IS THE TIME TO STAND, UNITED IN THE TRUTH AND OPPOSED TO THE LIBERAL MOVEMENT! LET ALL OLD LINE PRIMITIVE BAPTIST EVERYWHERE DENOUNCE THE EVIL MACHINE OF MAN. WE MUST MEET, IDENTIFY THOSE INVOLVED, DECLARE WHERE WE STAND AND SEPARATE OURSELVES FROM THIS HERESY AND WE MUST DO IT NOW! |
